As a planning specialist you will be a key role in supporting the Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) business area within Babcock Naval Nuclear. This Planning Specialist is part of the Project Management Office based in Bristol that works closely with the MoD, you will be joining a recognised global organisation which offers a range of associated benefits. The opportunity is being offered as a permanent member of the team as the organisation experiences the introduction of new and exciting project controls and business management tools and systems.
Who we are looking for
The Planning Specialist role offers an exciting opportunity for you to bring your planning/scheduling background and passion for driving operational improvements through enhanced project controls within a complex and forward-looking environment.
What will you be doing?
As our Project Planning Specialist you will bring your experience and expertise to this role and specialise in project controls and business management tool systems. This will encompass configuring, developing, and maintaining the planning tools to support the current and future SSE business requirements. You will provide the interface and alignment with the central project controls group and ensure industry best practice is utilised across all contracts. Provide coaching and process development across SSE, leading improvement initiatives and a local community of practice.
This role will involve communicating confidently with both internal and external clients.
The experience you'll bring
- Experience working with project controls in particular planning and scheduling.
- Project Controls tools understanding would be advantageous.
- P6 and MS Project knowledge and experience.
- Prior experience of working in UK Defence or similar industries would be advantageous.
You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
