Summary

We are looking to recruit Pool Lifeguards to join our team at various of our leisure centres. Positions available are:

- Springfield Community Campus in Corsham (permanent full-time)

- The Vale Community Campus in Pewsey (permanent full-time and casuals)

Leisure services provide a range of universal and targeted physical activity, sport and leisure opportunities for the Wiltshire population.

About the role

As a Pool Lifeguard, you will enable and deliver the safe and effective operations of the centre, working alongside other members of the team and consistent with standards set out within our normal operating procedures.

Part of the role will be to proactively safeguard the activities taking part in the centre and to assist in those tasks required to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the service. This includes lifeguarding pool sessions, setting up and taking down of equipment, general cleaning tasks and maintenance/building checks.

For casual positions, the hourly rate is £9.81 - £10.21 per hour (plus 12.03% holiday plussage and 10% unsocial hours plussage on top of the base rate).

About you

Along with a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent and you should have experience in delivering first aid to casualties and assist in managing incidents general knowledge of leisure centre operations and activities. 

You should also have an awareness of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and be customer focussed with excellent communication skills, with an enthusiastic approach and give a positive and professional image at all times.

Contracted hours roles will be required to work on a rota basis including evening and weekend shift hours.

All Pool Lifeguards must attend staff training programmes as required which may fall outside of the working shift pattern. This includes NPLQ as well as additional training sessions, in-line with the job role. Those who do not hold an NPLQ or equivalent qualification may be considered for this post, however, the qualification must be attained within 3 months of starting.
