Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Consultant in the East Mental Health team.  The team is very settled, supportive and stable and has a good working knowledge of the service users it supports, the local community resources and funded care options available.  The team also has a close working relationship with our Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation Trust colleagues in Great Yarmouth, with whom we share our working space, based at The Resource Centre, Northgate Hospital, Great Yarmouth.  The team is made up of experienced Level 2 Social Workers, some of whom are also Approved Mental Health Practitioners, along with very experienced Assistant Practitioners.

Are you an experienced Social Worker or Practice Consultant with a strong commitment to social work values? Do you thrive working in a fast paced, dynamic environment? Are you able to ensure a strong social work voice is heard while working collaboratively? If so, this opportunity could be for you.

In this role you will be excellent at motivating others, have a strong focus on staff wellbeing and ensure service users and carers remain at the centre of the team’s practice.

The role will include supervising Assistant Practitioners and Social Workers, providing case consultations, guidance and support in managing complex cases and an opportunity to build positive working relationships with our partner agencies.

We work to empower the service users we work with, using the ‘Living Well’ approach.  The work is complex, challenging and varied and if you have the experience in adult care and would like to explore the role of Practice Consultant within a supportive mental health team, then this could be a great opportunity for you.

For an informal discussion about the position and the team please call Phil Tomsett (East MH Team Manager) on 07767 324481.
