About the role:
This role is based in the Operational Excellence team that is responsible for delivering improvements to process and performance for Wastewater Operations. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership for a number of larger sites in a particular region, taking ownership of process performance, particularly around power generation, energy consumption, chemical usage and sludge dewatering.
You will directly contribute to Wastewater Transformation programme goals and Operational Excellence objectives.
Joining a high-profile team, we are seeking a Process Engineer to join at an exciting time of change within the company. You will be exposed to a variety of multi-million-pound projects and directly contribute to their success. Your day-to-day input will directly contribute to the wastewater operational Wastewater strategic goals of reducing waste energy and improving operational efficiency.
You will provide technical leadership on the sludge stream processes of several sites, supporting the delivery of site-specific Power Generation targets, and minimising the cost of treatment whilst keeping the site compliant.
Your input will be significant investigating future sludge stream opportunities, and you will assist in the design and delivery of these projects. Your technical support, advice and guidance will be used to influence operational and project teams, as well as procurement and other Commercial departments.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
As the Process Engineer, you will have extensive industry experience and a relevant specialism that can be applied. You will need to possess strong analytical skills and have confidence in data manipulation. You will have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant science or engineering discipline, and ideally, membership of appropriate professional body.
Working across the business it is essential that you are confident in communicating professionally both verbally and in writing; have strong influencing skills and be able to build positive relationships quickly.
Knowledge of the business and wastewater would be advantageous, as would competency of Microsoft Office.
This role is based in East London and will cover the largest sewage treatment works in Thames water.
