The UK Procurement team are responsible for purchasing at best value, defining the strategy for engagement with third party supply markets, managing risk in the supply chain, and identifying and realizing innovation opportunities relating to an annual spend of approx. £1bn. This future focussed function also plays a key role in ensuring the resilience and sustainability of supply arrangements across a broad range of indirect spend categories. In order to achieve our objectives, Kuehne+Nagel are investing in improved capability, honing and refining processes and systems, and recruiting new talent to increase capacity and complement the skillset of the existing team. As part of this exciting team expansion we are recruiting for a Processes, Systems & Data Intelligence Lead. This role affords the successful candidate a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic function that has a direct impact on profitability and performance. For an ambitious candidate with strong analytical skills, a professional approach, and preferably an interest in the design and management of robust financial control mechanisms, this role will provide an excellent introduction to category management and a launch platform for a future career in Procurement and/or Business Analytics. The role represents the chance to play a significant part in the ongoing success and growth of Kuehne + Nagel in the UK.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing, refining and delivering accurate data and reporting, with a focus on spend transparency
  • Deriving data driven insights to inform sourcing strategies, negotiations & best value outcomes
  • Documentation and demonstration of 'Best Practice' Procurement tools and processes and associated training materials
  • Develop and deliver dashboard reporting metrics that track and demonstrate progress towards the team's goal to become a Best in Class Procurement function
  • Devise the structure for monthly savings and benefits reporting upon which Category Managers will base strategic decisions and prioritise tendering processes, contract renewals and Supplier Relationship Management agendas
  • Development and monitoring of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) measures that reflect Procurement's contribution to delivery of ESG strategy
  • Continuous improvement of compliance monitoring and analytical capability
  • Own and maintain Procurement Policy and Process documentation as required to support future accreditation

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Advanced knowledge of Financial Accounting & ERP software tools
  • Ability to run detailed reports from Acon+, cleanse and interrogate data and present outputs in an accessible format
  • Good understanding of process-mapping and process improvement techniques
  • An analytical and methodical approach with the ability to work to timescales and manage a varied workload
  • A strong team player with the ability to communicate and engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Familiarity with Database Management tools and techniques preferable
  • Accountancy qualification (or working towards) is preferred
