As a Progression Job Coach in our Employment, Skills and Enterprise team, you'll support people on the Restart scheme to overcome barriers, build confidence and move into sustainable employment.

You'll work closely with participants to understand their goals, create tailored action plans and provide the coaching and practical support they need to succeed. Your work will have a direct and positive impact on individuals, families and local communities by helping people take meaningful steps towards a better future.

 

What you'll do as a Progression Job Coach

You'll be entrusted to:

  • Manage a caseload of participants, guiding them through the full Restart journey from engagement through to sustained employment
  • Deliver one-to-one coaching, needs assessments and tailored action plans to address barriers to work
  • Provide practical employability support including CV writing, job applications, interview preparation and job search techniques
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with participants, motivating and supporting them to achieve their goals
  • Work with employers and internal teams to identify opportunities and match participants to suitable roles
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with contract requirements and customer service standards

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring or supporting individuals into employment or education
  • A genuine passion for helping people succeed and making a positive difference in communities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence others
  • Experience working in a target-driven or performance-focused environment
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate, high-quality records
  • Good understanding of the Welsh language

 

Vetting and checks:

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
