Job Description

A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Refugee Support Coordinator to join the People from Abroad team, to assist with general tasks and practical duties, primarily across Norfolk.

As part of an award-winning multi-disciplinary team, you will coordinate public donations of goods and furniture, logistics, preparing furniture and properties for new tenants and generally assisting with practical tasks and duties to help clients achieve their independence and full potential.

Part of a mixed-skills team, including volunteers who provide specialist services across the county to migrants and refugees, experience of working with migrants, asylum seekers, people from other cultures and in using interpreters would be helpful.

You may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends, based in the centre of Norwich. As duties include visiting people in their own homes and providing support in community settings, enhanced DBS clearance is required for this post.  You must hold a full GB/EEA driving licence and be able to drive a hired van; ideally you will have experience of driving a long wheelbase vehicle.

You will be organised, with good people and communication skills.  Some moving and handling tasks are involved, for which appropriate equipment is provided. Small DIY tasks are required, as well as helping to set up properties. You will be able to use IT, organise and prioritise and use your own initiative.
