Based at our HQ in Leicester LE3 1UT

 The RAF Association has a clear objective: to help sustain a resilient and empowered RAF community, including serving personnel, RAF veterans and their families. Through our sector leading services, we offer friendship to the isolated and lonely, sheltered housing for those who want to remain proudly independent and childcare to serving personnel on RAF stations.  We work closely with partner organisations, including other military charities, and have a strong bond with our donors and supporters, giving us the confidence to deliver for our beneficiaries when they need us.

 How you can make a difference

 Our Regional Casework Administrators (CA) play a vital role in our welfare teams by acting as a first point of contact to triage all enquiries and requests which may require further investigation and support from our team of Casework Officers and volunteers. CA’s are often the first person a beneficiary speaks to when requesting our help.  As well as a broad range of day-to-day administrative tasks, you will be instrumental in the timely processing of beneficiaries' applications to ensure there is no delay in providing assistance. You will be responsible for confidently dealing with general telephone enquiries and correspondence and accurately updating the CMS data base. General secretarial support will be required in arranging meetings and minute taking along with other duties as required by our Casework Manager.

 In return you will be purposeful in making a difference to the RAF community, supporting those at their time of need.  

 What to expect from the role

 A confident, empathetic and caring individual will thrive in this role! Ideally, you will have a proven track record in providing administrative support ideally from a welfare service sector, though this is not essential. You will have to be a proficient Microsoft 365 user and have experience of using Word, Excel and Microsoft Teams. You will need excellent communication skills as well as general office administration experience which covers a broad range of activities
