Job Description

You will provide a proactive venue-based labour management operation that creates the Levy difference by Legendary Experiences through Powerful Partnerships. You will be responsible for the overall delivery of the People Operations function within the venue managing a small team across 3 venues and liaising with the senior management team and interlinking to departments to deliver best practice to drive change and constantly deliver business objectives. 

Strong leadership whilst delivering and managing the People Operations function and ensure the smooth planning and delivery of a first-class service to the internal customer base and all customers/guests within the venue. You will ensure that all colleagues are recruited and trained to Levy standards to deliver a 5-star service to all our guests.

More about the role:

Your key responsibility will ensure the success of the staffing operation across Aintree, Haydock Park and Carlisle racecourses, managing a team that cover over 60 Live event days, with huge emphasis placed on delivering the people function of the Randox Grand National Festival at Aintree, whilst supporting on an ad-hoc basis other Jockey Club Catering sites during key Festivals.

You will also, lead and manage recruitment of casual team members for the business, lead constructive 121's with all HOD's to discuss staffing activity whilst instilling and maintaining a people first culture. Working with 3 rd party agency suppliers to ensure quality and consistency of staff coming into venues, ensuring sufficient control of uniform stock and enhancing staff welfare facilities across the business. Manage and facilitate the payroll systems to ensure that all work conducted is processed for employees/workers in an efficient and timely manner.

Build, lead and manage an effective process with clear recruitment objectives and plans that are updated and maintained including RTW, training and building a talent pool of candidates/talent matrix. This will also include devising the retention plan for the business, supporting onsite apprentices, and working closely with the L&D Business partner around an annual training and development plan for staff. Supporting senior management and HR related activities around welfare, development of workers, assisting with grievances and disciplinary investigations and hearings as required. You will identify high performers and drive their development by implementing training plans, apprenticeship programmes, all working in conjunction with Levy HR teams and central functions.

Who you are:

You will have extensive experience of working as a Staffing or Recruitment Manager or similar in a demanding fast paced environment or as a HR generalist with a large client or across multiple sites.

You will be influential and operate at all stakeholder levels with the ability to support change with effective project and stakeholder management skills

A positive, approachable trouble shooter with experience of delivering development and retention plans, and someone who is commercially astute with experience in a fast paced, high volume variable labour environment with an active eye and awareness of the wider recruitment market and our key competitors.
