Regulatory Manager - 6-month FTC
We have an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Manager to join our Regulatory Affairs team! The Regulatory Affairs function understands, provides advice regarding and seeks to influence the legal and regulatory framework of the energy sector so that Centrica businesses can work effectively within it.
Reporting to the Head of Wholesale & Retail Market Policy, the Regulatory Manager is accountable for ensuring that new and upcoming policy regarding Financial Responsibility is implemented appropriately across Centrica.
This is a Fixed Term role, intending to last for a period of 6 months.
The Role:
Work closely with commercial colleagues to ensure that new and anticipated obligations - such as protections for customer credit balances - are implemented appropriately
Ensure the governance framework for the regulated entity is robust and effective, and applied appropriately in light of Ofgem's new approach to compliance reviews
Work with colleagues in Regulatory Affairs, Compliance and the organisation more widely to help ensure relevant regulatory reports are prepared accurately and submitted on a timely basis
Ensure that Centrica implements new regulations regarding Financial Responsibility appropriately. As such, close working relationships with senior Centrica management is a critical aspect of the role and close support to business areas by the team is essential
The Person:
An excellent comprehension (and ideally track record) of implementing regulatory obligations will be essential
Knowledge of the energy sector will be an advantage, as will an appreciation of the application of comparable regulations in other sectors (e.g. prudential requirements and general capital adequacy requirements introduced and overseen by the Prudential Regulatory Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority)
Trained to degree level, or significant experience of roles relating to energy regulation or financial services regulation
Excellent verbal, presentation and reasoning skills
Ability to build constructive relationships at all levels of an organisation

Ability to manage cross-functional project teams
Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills
