Job Title: Robotic Welding Technician

What you'll be doing:
(Full training will be provided for each duty)
- Providing technical support during the implementation of new automated processes and completing setup and commissioning of new automated cells and semi-automatic welding equipment
- Carrying out fault analysis and remedial actions during system operation and performing robot and laser calibration routines
- Support training of Robot operators and welding personnel
- Understand, interpret and deploy robotic and weld related documents, e.g., robot and PLC controller programs, process procedures etc
- Ensure a high level of health and safety is maintained for all systems
- Performing statistical problem solving when necessary to develop and implement alternative solutions
Your skills and experiences:
- Knowledge of ABB or other industrial robots and automated welding processes
- Basic understanding of the main welding processes typically used for submarine construction and a sound appreciation of weld quality
- Willingness and commitment to undertake training and courses relevant to the position
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required and to communicate effectively
- Awareness of off-line programming & simulation using Robot Studio or similar would be beneficial

Robotic welding technicians are critical to the development of new production operators to undertake mechanised and state of the art robotic welding techniques which are currently being utilised in the production environment. Robot technicians must be willing to undergo extensive training in robotic programming and operation so they can provide support, guidance and coaching to various BAE manufacturing teams. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
