Role Summary
The post holder provides comprehensive administrative and organisational support to the department, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and effective operational management. This includes managing diaries for senior managers, coordinating meetings, and producing accurate documentation such as minutes, notes, and reports in line with Trust standards. They maintain efficient filing and record‑keeping systems, operate reliable bring‑forward processes, and support day‑to‑day administrative tasks such as photocopying, document distribution, and correspondence handling.
Working as part of a busy team, the post holder contributes to service improvement initiatives, supports departmental processes as the service evolves, and ensures adequate cover during periods of staff absence. They actively participate in team meetings, audits, and training to maintain compliance with Trust policies, including confidentiality, data protection, and health and safety.
Strong communication is central to the role. The post holder interacts professionally with internal colleagues and external organisations, manages email and telephone enquiries efficiently, and provides excellent customer service—even in challenging situations. They proactively manage meeting arrangements, including rescheduling when required, and ensure information is shared effectively.
The role also involves basic resource management, such as monitoring supplies and supporting cost‑effective use of materials. The post holder assists new starters, understands the boundaries of their responsibilities, and seeks support appropriately. They may be required to undertake additional duties aligned with their pay band to meet the needs of the service.

The post holder will be part of the HealthTech Research Centre in Sustainable Innovation (HRC), providing secretarial support to primarily the Directors, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Project Manager.
· The role supports hybrid working, with an agreed balance of on-site and remote working in line with service needs.
· The post holder will use a range of Trust IT systems on a daily basis, including Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint for document production, communication and records management
Working Pattern: 3 days a week between Monday - Thursday (Monday mandatory)

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2026-7 rates, inclusive of a 3.3% pay award implemented from April 2026. If you join before this date,, remuneration will be based on the 2025-6 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2025/26 | NHS Employers)
Please note, this is a fixed term contract until 31/03/2028. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
