Senior Engineer - Product Configuration
We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer - Product Configuration to join the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) team, based at our site in either Glasgow or Bristol (Filton).
As a Senior Engineer - Product Configuration, you will be co-ordinating the implementation of appropriate business rules and controls for each phase of the product lifecycle and ensuring the required level of reporting is delivered for Configuration Management.
This role will play a critical role within the Programme Product Change Management team and, as part of the largest Global Combat Systems programme, this is a truly unique opportunity to contribute to an international programme in complex warship design. With an expanding programme, we can offer many exciting long-term opportunities either within the immediate team or within the wider engineering business.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer - Product Configuration
Coordinating implementation of appropriate business rules and controls for each phase of the product lifecycle and ensuring required level of reporting is delivered for Configuration Management and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) stakeholders
Supporting the effective implementation of Configuration Management plans and policies within Naval Ships
Contributing the execution of data management for the project through life, interfacing with stakeholders including the Information Management & Technology(IM&T) function with specific emphasis on digital transfer of data
Preparation and maintenance of the Configuration and PLM documentation and The Product Configuration Management Plan (CSC PCMP)
Preparing and maintaining the configuration and PLM documentation and the product Configuration Management Plan
Accountable (with the rest of the PLM Team) for the maintenance and ongoing coordination of a project-wide class management solution and its implementation across applicable enterprise toolsets
Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineer - Product Configuration:
Experience in end to end engineering lifecycle with an understanding of the Configuration Management lifecycle
Understanding change lifecycle
Knowledge and understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Systems e.g.Aveva, Windchill
Experience working with product baselines
Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in STEM
Background in Defence/marine experience
Experience with Foran
Experience working with Bill of Materials (BOM)
