The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Coordinator to play a pivotal role at our Oxfordshire Advanced Skills (OAS) facility. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Operations Manager, with matrix accountability to the Centre Head and Programme Manager, you’ll ensure the site remains a safe, welcoming and best‑in‑class working environment.

This is a hands‑on role with local autonomy, offering the opportunity to make a visible impact while remaining aligned to wider MTC safety, quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the local lead for all facilities and property matters at the OAS site

Build and manage effective relationships with landlord representatives and act as the single point of contact

Serve as the main customer contact for all site users regarding facilities services

Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring statutory compliance and best practice

Diagnose faults and oversee effective repairs across building services and equipment

Support site security, access control and business resilience arrangements

Ensure all works meet health, safety, environmental and quality standards

Manage contractor and supplier performance in line with MTC policy

Support continuous improvement, cost‑saving initiatives and net‑zero objectives

Oversee local utilities and energy management

Act as a workplace ambassador, ensuring a positive employee and visitor experience

Support emergency response arrangements, including out‑of‑hours escalation



What You’ll Bring

Essential

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a maintenance discipline

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a customer‑facing facilities or estates role

IOSH Managing Safely qualification

Broad knowledge of hard and soft FM services

Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills

Experience working in a Higher Education or similar environment

Commercial awareness with experience reviewing cost proposals

Confident user of Microsoft Office 365

Full UK driving licence

Resilience, adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities



Desirable

NEBOSH National General Certificate

Experience using SLA/KPI frameworks for performance management

ISO accreditation experience
