The Opportunity

#WeAreEDF and are leading the transition to a cleaner, low emission electric future, tackling climate change and helping Britain achieve net zero.

The Joint Design Office (JDO) was created by EDF to reinforce Hinkley Point C's site-based engineering capability to allow for a quicker response to on site engineering queries and problems. Among its main aims, The JDO is committed to managing the changes to Civil, Mechanical and Electrical design during construction according to safety, quality, schedule and cost.

The JDO is a joint organisation between EDF Nuclear New Build, EDF's new nuclear engineering division (DIPNN UK) and Edvance UK, a primary benefit of this organisation is to save time on construction by having on-site reactive answers and solutions, allowing construction teams to continue their activities with minimal delay. The JDO also protects the designer teams, in France, and allows them time to focus on core engineering design.

Working within the JDO we now have a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on, proactive and organised Senior Project Controls Engineer with the ability to work with electronic tools and platforms ideally in a project engineering environment. This position is on the site of Hinkley Point C although initial training and handover will take place at the Edvance Bristol site at Aztec West.

The Role

Seconded into Edvance and hierarchically reporting to the Edvance UK PMO Manager, you will be working as part of an integrated Project Control team with the client, under the daily operational steer of the Client's staff. You will participate in the daily activities of the JDO project controls team, and will also ensure that this common team produces the data necessary for Edvance internal governance. The JDO project control team will provide the following services to all of the JDO (client as well as Edvance):

Budget management - Budget estimating, forecasting and reporting
Budget assessment of additional work required by the client
Development and production of regular performance reporting (e.g extraction of raw data from engineering tools, manipulation of data into KPIs)
Analysis of activities levels within the JDO to enable estimation of future workload for workforce planning purposes
    Data management (including document control)
Co-ordination/facilitation of the risk management process for JDO
Definition and development of scheduling activities required by the JDO

As the most senior Project Control position held by Edvance in the JDO:

Ensure that the data produced on all of the above fields is in line with internal requirements of Edvance, in addition to the client's own requirements and the operational JDO requirements. This will be done in conjunction with the Edvance site senior leadership team and/or Edvance central project control team
Act as the Edvance line manager of any other position held by Edvance in the JDO project control teams (including the Lead Document Controller)

The Skills

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Previous experience of project controls management
Educated to degree standard or above
