What is the Role?

This is a key role managing delivery for the Renewables and Thermals businesses. The SSE Thermal business supports power stations and gas storage, whilst Renewables deliver our wind and hydro assets. You'll act as the interface between the key business stakeholders and the IT organisation to ensure delivery of key services. It's an essential role to ensure the high level of service and technology delivery required by the business, and involves managing key suppliers to ensure consistent and quality delivery.

What do I need?

As well as a high level of technical or functional experience, you'll have significant experience working in IT at a management level, with strong leadership in IT Service Management, in a similarly-sized organisation and ideally with a Utilities/Energy background.

You'll be highly knowledgeable and experienced in the use of Service Management processes and best practice, such as ITIL, and will be qualified to ISEB Managers certificate level. With demonstrable commercial, financial, contract and supplier management experience, you'll also have an excellent understanding of the development, customisation and implementation of customer support processes and procedures and a strong focus on quality and continual improvement is essential.

Your excellent stakeholder management skills will enable you to build and maintain strong relationships with the business, whilst managing delivery from Business Unit dedicated IT support and central IT services.
