Salary: £38,600 - £58,000 depending on skills and experience + Bonus + Car

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time, 37 hours | Flexible working patterns available

What is the Role?

You'll play a critical role, in the provision of risk-based SHE governance processes to ensure SSEN is made aware of the level of compliance with SHE duties imposed by statute and Group standards. You'll be responsible for delivering professional, closed-loop SHE assurance arrangements across the Networks business including implementation of the agreed business SHE compliance programs and providing support for Group SHE Assurance programs.

You'll provide governance over the development and maintenance of documentation across all elements of the Networks SHE Management System; ensuring that it's robust, fit for purpose and assured and aligned with associated assurance arrangements.

Actively contributing to an inclusive, effective and safe working environment, you'll establish and monitor regular maintenance of technical SHE and regulatory compliance programmes and reporting systems.

You'll both lead and implement the management strategy for the development of the SHE Assurance arrangements and ensure that the associated approved procedures and guidance are effective, accurate, complete, consistent, unambiguous, well structured and concise.

What do I need?

Well versed on qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques, you'll have a detailed knowledge and understanding of UK legislation and the Electricity Networks market place through significant experience within a similar role in the Electricity Networks business. Additionally, you'll have demonstrable experience of the application of ALARP in relation to occupational safety matters and the management of business risk.

A member of IOSH (or equivalent organisation), you'll also hold a Lead Auditor qualification/or have extensive experience gained within an electricity Networks business incorporating best practice into SHE audit processes. You'll be educated to degree level in Occupational Safety (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma) or, as a minimum, be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge through significant experience within a similar role.

You should be an excellent communicator with a natural ability for building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Able to use a wide range of techniques to influence change at all levels of the organisation you'll also possess a well-structured, systematic approach with the ability to identify and analyse complex technical issues and understand risks in order to implement appropriate solutions.

Due to the level of mobility required in this role a full UK driving licence is essential. With responsibilities for the whole Networks business the role requires a significant amount of travel for customer and stakeholder engagements as well as attendance at company and industry meetings. A full, current UK Drivers licence is therefore required.
