Specialist Foster Carer required in Norfolk


Norfolk County Council Fostering Service are seeking an exceptional individual or family to offer highly specialised foster care for teenager.


You will provide a long term, stable home environment and nurture this young person whilst understanding and tailoring your care to their needs. A good sense of humour alongside a kind and nurturing nature are a must alongside a clear sense of boundaries whilst you gain their trust.


You will need to be able to establish a strong relationship with the young person and their family to understand what support they need to grow in resilience, confidence and life skills to enable them to successfully manage the transition to independence. You must also be flexible, committed and resilient with a good understanding of care needs and interventions in line with their care plan.


Our dedicated team of health, social care, fostering and education professionals will fully support you on this journey.


We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and you will be expected to share this commitment.


The successful candidate will be assessed and approved as a foster carer/s. This could be ideal for experienced foster carers or those with experience in residential settings or mental health provision, individuals who could offer a young person a friendly and supportive home life until they can live independently on a full-time basis and be available.

In recognition of the higher level of support required, the allowance we pay to cover the cost of caring for this young person will be higher than our standard payments, due to the skills, experience and time needed to provide this placement.
