Cambridge Street Aid is a project that has been developed by Cambridge City Council and local partners that works as a grant-based programme facilitating Cambridge residents and visitors to safely make a donation to help a person on the street.
We have a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven individual to join this project and lead upon the recruitment and management of the Street Aid volunteers.
Within this role you will be responsible for supporting and enabling volunteers to attend events to promote and raise awareness of Cambridge Street Aid.
Working closely with the Street Aid leads, you will assist with the ongoing development of the Street Aid, devising innovative ways to involve volunteers in the promotion of the project, ensuring it is in keeping with the Council’s strategy for dealing with rough sleeping and the associated issues.
You will join us with experience of community engagement activities and the delivery of presentations and workshops to groups. You will also have experience of working with and motivating volunteers and project management. You will understand the challenges and complexities when dealing with rough sleeping and how it may be applied to this role.
If you are able to lead and motivate others, then we would welcome an application from you.
In return we can offer excellent employee benefits which include flexible working, family friendly policies, a generous annual leave allowance, access to the highly valued Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), travel benefits, health & well-being initiatives, employee support scheme and learning and development opportunities.
