Job Description

Supplier Manager
Knutsford, Glasgow, or Northampton

As a Barclays Supplier Manager, you will be the key contact point between Suppliers and internal stakeholders, building solid relationships and ensuring compliance to all Policy and Regulatory requirements. As the role holder, you will also need to have an excellent Commercial focus, delivering the best outcomes for Barclays. This is an exciting opportunity to support Supplier Managers in delivering ‘best in class’ supplier management of one of the group’s strategic and / or operational 3rd party suppliers.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, established in 1690, with a legacy of success, quality, and innovation. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

What will you be doing?

•    Providing effective management of Supplier relationships on behalf of Barclays, by applying all elements of Sourcing and Supplier Management Policy
•    Assisting the activity of root cause analysis of incidents, implementing remedial action as agreed with the Supplier Manager
•    Building a solid grasp of the specific cost, risk & service parameters which underpin the service and use knowledge of the service / supply to identify / deliver improvements
•    Engaging with the delivery of small / medium variations to documentation and support the delivery of large change
•    Providing an interface into the supplier in respect of required variations to services
•    Ensuring necessary discipline / agreed change acceptance methodologies are deployed at all times and that all activities meet the desired cost and risk

What we’re looking for:

•    Dealing with services delivered through 3rd parties and / or operational experience
•    Ability to analyse and interpret data, draw conclusions and make reasoned recommendations
•    Financially aware; analytical, with a great attention to detail
•    Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English; confident and articulate

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Industry / market knowledge of the sector
•    Knowledge of Barclays business areas, key priorities & challenges
•    Understanding of cost, risk & service parameters
•    Preferably a degree calibre candidate with relevant qualifications

Where will you be working?

The Barclays Technology Campus, just outside Manchester, is our transatlantic tech command centre for information security in the UK. It’s the vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. Radbroke is a place where big ideas become realities. Where the talent in the world can build careers full of scope, variety and reward, by creating the technical solutions that meet today’s demands, answer tomorrow’s questions and redefine the future of finance.

Our new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration. A place where everyone can bring their true selves to work and reach their full potential.
