The job itself

About the recipient

female, 41 years old and resides in Driffield. They require a dedicated and suitable person to support them for 6 hours per week, the rota is to be flexible and days and times to be agreed each week.

Female support needs include: EUPD emotionally unstable personality disorder, anxiety.

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the individual with accessing activities and spending time out in the community or engaging in interests at home such as arts and crafts, baking.
  • Attending/transporting the individual to social activities and appointments.
  • Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.

About the candidate

The suitable candidate must:

  • Be motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
  • Be patient, caring and understanding.
  • Experience of supporting individuals with mental health.
  • Have good communication skills (clear and effective communication).
  • Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to both encourage and support them.
  • Be flexible to accommodate the hours of work where necessary.
  • Must have use of own car, to transport individual to social activities and appointments.
  • Be comfortable with animals to assist with the individual's cat.

DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
