We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Class Teacher 0.4 FTE to cover maternity leave until July 2021 who will contribute to and work effectively with our creative and inspiring teaching team within Applegarth Primary School and the very successful Applegarth/Hutton Partnership.
This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
Applegarth and Hutton Primaries partnership arrangement was formalised in 2013. Although both schools work closely together to the benefit of all pupils each school retains its own identity.
The school has a rural catchment area and is part of the Lockerbie Academy Cluster. Applegarth currently has 2 multi-composite classes.

We aim to provide a secure and friendly atmosphere in which each child can develop to their full potential educationally, socially and emotionally.
You will provide effective learning and teaching and carry out related activities and developments following local, national and school policies under the direction of the Head Teacher.

Applicants are required to be fully registered in the appropriate sector with the General Teaching Council of Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT.
This post considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates are required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
