An opportunity to join the Kuehne+Nagel team at Yeovil.

YOUR ROLE

The main area of responsibility is the management of all operational activities associated with the IOS operation. This includes prompt receipt, handling, storage, inspection and despatch of all items, ensuring total accuracy and quality at all times. To ensure all operations are conducted safely and in line with the latest working instructions.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the workload across the operation and reporting to the IOS Ops Manager in the event of needing extra resource or overtime.
  • Continuously develop a highly motivated workforce and help drive PS and SC21 principles.
  • Communicate with the Ops Manager to ensure accurate functioning of all departments, and the moving of resource to achieve the overall goals of the business where departmental workloads allow.
  • Hold daily meetings with the team to communicate work levels and solve any issues that may be raised.
  • Recruit and induct new starters into the business using the agreed induction process.
  • Ensure that all new starters are enrolled onto the departmental training plan and are fully trained in all areas with on going support whilst employed by KN.
  • Manage the receipt, handling, storage, inspection and despatch of all customers' assets and all associated tasks in line with the agreed contract.
  • Carry out effective planning of workload/volumes and best utilise the labour resource to meet customer's expectations.
  • Direct and motivate the team to maintain and improve the production process and associated administrative systems

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Experience of leading a team
  • Experience of working to agreed targets
  • Understanding of warehouse practises e.g. picking, loading
  • PC literate
  • Understanding of warehouse practises e.g. picking, packing, loading
  • Understanding of KPIs
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Reliable and committed to attending work on time
  • Good Communication skills - written and verbal
  • Accuracy & attention to detail
  • Flexibility to task and hours
