Base location: Birmingham

Salary: Up to £60,000

As the Technical security Analyst your key purpose will be to provide the technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to help the design, implementation and ongoing operation of the systems and services used by Serco to provide security-enforcing functions. This role spans Security Architectural Design' and Security Operational' activities and  we will be looking to you to provide technical guidance within the Security Tower and support wider security remediation in the Security Operations Centre.

 

What you'll need to do the role

Firstly, you'll need broad Information Security knowledge, with a deep and current technical understanding of security relating to applications, infrastructure & cloud services and detailed knowledge of security-enforcing technologies. (firewalls, SIEM tools, Identity and Access Management, etc.). You'll need extensive experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer with experience with network security and networking technologies and with system security and network monitoring tools. You'll need experience of dealing with Critical incidents passed from the SOC tier 2 analysts, review alerts, threat intelligence and security data and identify threats that have entered the network. Lastly, you must be willing to be part of an on-call rota, and willing to support urgent operational incidents outside of standard office hours where necessary.
