Test Engineer

Would you like to play a key role in systems test and acceptance for one of the UK's Leading Defence Companies? We currently have a vacancy for a Test Engineer at our site in Christchurch.

As a Test Engineer, you will be working closely with the Engineering team, Customer and Stakeholders to establish and implement the strategy and activities to successfully deliver Gateway solutions to meet the Customer requirements.

This role will provide you with opportunity to work within growing team of friendly like-minded people, all with an underlying passion for technology and with the opportunities to continually learn, innovate and demonstrate your abilities and aptitude. This role could also lead to future development or leadership opportunities within the team or wider BAE Systems Business.

Your main responsibilities as a Test and Acceptance Engineer will involve:

Develop and/or maintain a set of tests that prove the functionality of the system to be delivered

Carry out testing activities during the appropriate product lifecycle

Experience of Non-functional testing strategies and execution

Lead customer facing test and acceptance meetings and presentations,

Lead customer witnessed acceptance events,

Production of key test deliverables to support milestones

Develop test automation methods and test cases

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Proven track record as a Test engineer or similar role

Creation of test case definition through requirements analysis

Fault analysis and reporting to development teams

Creation and Implementation of Test Strategies

Experience of using Configuration and Service Management tools (Ideally Rational Team Concert)

Experience of using Requirement Management tools (Ideally DOORS)

Experience of test automation strategies and implementation

Desirable:

Team Leadership experience

You will have a positive attitude towards working to budgets and timescales. You will also have excellent self-organisation and time management skills with the ability to take responsibility for you own workload and take an innovative approach to drive improvements. Experience of mentoring junior staff would also be desirable. Communication with stakeholders and team members at all levels will also be key to this role.
