Test Manager

Would you like to work in an exciting fast paced environment, supporting applications critical to the day to day operation of various aircraft across many sites? We currently have a vacancy for a M&SSCC (Maintenance & Support Systems Competency Centre) Test Manager at our site in Warton, Lancashire.

As the test manager within the M&SSCC, you will be initially managing the Testing Phase of several deployments of the Integrated Maintenance Solution for applications critical to the day to day operations of various Aircrafts including the Hawk, Typhoon and F-35, across the UK and internationally, as the scope of the M&SSCC grows further applications will come into the scope of the role. You will be working closely with the Incident Manager and other key stakeholders to ensure appropriate and robust test strategies are developed.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to make your mark on testing as the competency centre looks to expand its capability and ensure new, robust and well-defined testing strategies. You will also have the opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment that has an impact on the organisation everyday by helping BAE deployments meet customer requirements. As you will be part of an expanding competency centre, this could lead to progression and development opportunities within the team or within the wider BAE Systems Business.

Your main responsibilities as a M&SSCC Test Manager will involve:

Definition of Standards for Test Deliverables including environments, readiness reviews, script formats, evidence format and a test exit report.

Creation and management of test plans and test criteria.

Assess and translate external vendor application release notes.

Communicate a summary of application improvements, fixed in to the wider Competency Centre Subject Matter Expert groups.

Understand, collate and record impacts to Business Process/Work Instruction and training material and ensure change is managed.

Continuous improvement of the testing approach.

Support to Co-ordination and planning across deployments (End User Testing)

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Test Management & Planning Experience

Software Testing Experience

Confident communicating and engaging with management and peers.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work well within a team and under your own initiative.

Stakeholder Management (Able to build remote relationships)

Desirable:

ServiceNow or ITIL experience

You will be a creative and self-motivated problem solver with an ability to work closely within in a team environment to ensure test strategies are comprehensive and robust. This will also require you to have excellent communication skills both written and verbally to allow you to work effectively within a team and with stakeholders both locally and remotely.

Salary: £43,268 + Dependent on experience
