An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the day surgery team here at Yeovil District Hospital.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated theatre practitioner who is committed to high standards of patient care to join our team as a Band 6 team leader.

This post involves working in a multi-speciality unit with 3 theatres across two sites one of which is devoted to our Ophthalmology service, the other performing multiple specialities including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology, Plastic surgery, cardiology and Endoscopy procedures.

Previous experience in Ophthalmology surgery is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will also have the responsibility of being a team leader with some managerial responsibility for their team.

They will be expected to be a role model and mentor providing training and education within the department .

There will be opportunities to work alongside colleagues to help develop services within the Day surgery unit.

The Day Surgery team work closely with main theatre services to provide operational support for the whole service, all theatre practitioners are expected to have some flexibility to work in other areas if the service provision requires it. ‘
