An opportunity has arisen for a Water Treatment Operator on a Part Time 4 hours per week contract based in the Isle of Raasay area.
Main Purpose of Role
To monitor and maintain water treatment works and pumping stations to ensure the quality of water and working within all regulatory and legislative requirements within the geographical area.
1 To ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to including risk assessments, etc
2 To operate and maintain the plant as required including calibrating monitors, filters, tank levels, etc
3 To check and record all necessary water quality parameters including colour, pH, chlorine, aluminium, phosphate, etc
4 To participate in daily plant checks and inspections of reservoirs, dams, etc to ensure early identification and resolution of problems
5 To ensure all information is accurately and timeously recorded for audit purposes.
6 To provide emergency cover to Water Treatment Works whenever required
7 Issue permit to work to all relevant contractors and ensure they follow all health and safety procedures
8 Participate in a Water Treatment Operational Standby Rota
Although full training will be provided to the successful candidate, desirable skills include:
- A knowledge of water treatment processes
- Experience in water distribution systems and health and safety procedures
- Confident using various systems and computer literate
- Mechanical maintenance experience
- A valid driving license is essential and a vehicle will be provided.
Salary range (depending on relevant skills and experience) - £18,562 - £27107 Pro rata
