The role
As a Vehicle Workshop Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to support Babcock and the London Fire Brigade in keeping us safe.
Day-to-day, you'll maximise vehicle throughput, minimising vehicle downtime, whilst controlling costs, maintaining compliance, and creating an environment for the employees to thrive and achieve, whilst promoting a safe culture and environment.
- Review the workshop structure and resourcing to ensure it is robust and agile to meet the contractual demand
- Have a consistent commercial focus including customer service, risk management, effective use of technology and consideration of limited resource management
- Focus on People - recruitment, development, training and retention within the workshop
- Focus on quality in the workshop: quality of output with high first-time fix rates, quality of work submissions
- Financials - understand the cost base, create a plan to improve productivity, utilisation, and efficiency
This role is full time, 40 hours per week Monday - Friday and is based on site at Ruislip.
Essential experience of the Vehicle Workshop Manager:
- Significant operational experience in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles
- Significant experience managing multi-disciplined teams
- Working effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Extensive knowlege and application of health and safety principals
Qualifications for the Vehicle Workshop Manager:
- Relevant Technical Qualification - HGV IMI Level 3
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- UK Driving License

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
