Aberdeenshire Council

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

The council has offered support to employees who are reservists who may be mobilised and allow staff to take paid leave to attend armed forces training camps.  This has been augmented by the creation of external and internal social media accounts with the intention of creating a safe forum for reservists, veterans and those connected or interested in the armed forces to have friendly discussions, learn about upcoming events and receive support if needed.

We also plan to include guaranteed interviews to veterans for jobs where they meet the essential criteria, making more effective use of the Career Transition Partnership in the recruitment of service leavers, providing work placements to assist with transition and exploring how to better support any Cadet Force Adult Volunteers who are employees.

About us

Aberdeenshire Council is a large local authority in North East Scotland with a wide and diverse selection of employment opportunities on offer.

We provide a vast array of essential services across a wide remit; from the education of our school children, support for our community learning groups and care at home for our vulnerable residents through to the maintenance of our network systems, to name but a few.

We look for enthusiastic, motivated and committed individuals who will take pride in the work they do and appreciate the integral role we all play in delivering a first-class customer service to the communities we serve.

We believe it is important that we work in an environment where we treat each other the way we want to be treated, with equality and diversity at our core.
