Action for Children

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Action for Children is committed to support the Armed Forces Covenant, recognising the value that members of the Armed Forces family can bring to our organisation and to the diverse communities that we support.  Through the Forces Families Jobs platform, we will promote employment and volunteering opportunities to the Armed Forces community.

We currently have Spring Nursery settings on 16 military bases, offer wrap around out of school clubs and provide Youth Airplay workers into The RAF Benevolent Fund's Airplay Youth Support Programme as a large and unique part of our childcare is our military offering. We work closely with the bases Community Development Officers, Soldier, Sailors and Airforce Charity (SSAFA)

Our values drive everything that we do:

  • We’re passionate about all children having a safe and happy childhood.
  • We’re ambitious for children and young people.
  • We collaborate internally and externally with other organisations to get the best outcomes for children
  • We're inclusive, and strive to ensure that all children are included.

Action for Children is committed, through its Equality and Diversity Policy, to promoting equality, valuing diversity and working inclusively across the whole organisation. These principles are upheld in behaviours and practices – as an employer, service provider, and campaigning organisation.

About us

We believe that every child should have a safe and happy childhood. We are committed to ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to thrive. We protect and support vulnerable children, young people and their families, by giving them the practical and emotional care and support they need. Last year, we helped more than 600,000 children and families across the UK. We ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting changes to their lives.

If you share our vision for every child and young person to have a safe and happy childhood, we want you to join our team. You can learn more about our values and practice on our Action for Children website.
