Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
As a Service Charity, the Armed Forces Education Trust understand the needs of those we support, be they serving or veterans. At our core is the desire to help these needs be better understood by education providers in particular but also to the wider community.
We fully support the aims of the Armed Forces covenant, we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.
While aiming to maintain a diverse board of trustees, we fully support the inclusion of veterans and serving personnel, recognising military skills and qualifications in our recruitment and selection process.
About us
The Armed Forces Education Trust is a charity working for children and young adults whose education has been compromised or put at risk as a result of parents’ past or current service in the Armed Forces.
The Trust Supports Service Families with individual grants towards their children's education. We also support Service Children in Schools with grants to help overcome difficulties due to deployment, separation and transitions and to help raise educational attainment that may suffer as a result of these factors. The grants we give make a difference to young lives.
