Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

We are proud to work closely with the Armed Forces and their families, including Veterans and Reservists, along with Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.

We are keen to utilise the skills and experience of those with military service, and ensure that these are recognised through a values based recruitment process for those that seek to join us.

We understand the value that serving personnel, Reservists, Veterans and military families bring to our organisation. We therefore:

  • Offer additional paid leave of 10 days to Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers to support training and attendance at their annual camp
  • Offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave for service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment
  • Provide an Armed Forces Staff Support Group offering advice, emotional support and social companionship.

We are committed to the Armed Forces Covenant, the promise by the nation that those who serve or who have served in the UK armed forces, and their families, will be treated fairly.

About us

We’re a community and mental health trust, providing a wide range of services to people of all ages living in Berkshire. And to do this, we employ approximately 4,500 staff who operate from our many sites as well as out in people’s homes and in various community settings.

We deliver joined up physical and mental health services, helping people to remain independent at home for as long as possible and providing the care and support that best meets the needs of our patients, in the most suitable location.

From early years to end of life, we offer a wide range of services to keep you and your family well.

We run a number of specialist clinics and services aimed at young people, Veterans, adults and older people to support and treat mental health, physical health and sexual health conditions.

We've recently been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.
