Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
BCHG are Gold Armed Forces Covenant holders and we have been actively advocating with our partners and supply chain to encourage other employers to sign up to the covenant. As a result of this we have had a supplier sign up to the Armed Forces Bronze Covenant and are working with four other suppliers to progress and support their Bronze applications. As part of our advocacy we held an open day at our Head Office in partnership with another AFC holder. This promoted the benefits of the covenant and employing veterans. In addition we promote the Armed Forces Covenant on our website, email footers and our new supplier forms publicise and promote the covenant.
We are part of a networking group; which includes Sandwell MBC, British Legion and mental health charities where we are supporting Sandwell MBC to go for the AFC Gold. All armed forces veterans meeting essential criteria are guaranteed an interview with BCHG.
About us
We have over 2,100 homes across the Black Country and Birmingham and two purpose built Residential Care Homes. More than a registered provider of social housing, we support our local communities by offering free services that help individuals with self-achievement and aspiration through our career development, training and employment services. Founded in 1974, we have grown significantly both in terms of the number of homes we rent and the breadth of other housing related services we now offer. We help thousands of customers every year making a real difference to their lives.
At Black Country Housing Group our values are not just a set of words, but are at the heart of the way our organisation works and how our colleagues interact in their day-to-day activities.
