BT plc

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

BT was one of the very first companies to sign the Armed Forces Covenant in October 2013. And in 2014, BT was one of the first ten companies to be given the prestigious MOD Gold Award, which we are still proud to hold. These achievements are testament to BT’s long-standing and continuing support to the armed forces community, and we are one of the very few UK companies to employ a full-time Head of Military Engagement.

Our AFC pledges, which were revised in 2017, are wide-ranging. For Forces Families, the focus of our support is our Transition Force programme, which helps Service leavers, veterans, spouses and partners find civilian employment.

Transition Force offers informal career workshops across the UK (34 held in 2018/19), which give an insight into either BT as a whole, Openreach engineering or BT cyber security careers. We also have over 200 volunteer mentors who are able to give bespoke 1:1 advice on career options and can help you maximise your potential when applying for a job.

BT is proud to be one of the UK’s leading supporters of the armed forces community.  We are the most prolific recruiter of Service leavers and veterans, and also have career opportunities suitable for forces spouses and partners.
