Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

The Office for Veterans’ Affairs was launched in October 2019 in support of the government’s commitment to take responsibility, in partnership with the charitable sector, for lifelong support to military veterans. The Office for Veterans’ Affairs (OVA) coordinates and drives policy and delivery across government on veterans’ issues including mental and physical health, education, housing and employment.

About us

The Cabinet Office is at the centre of government, coordinating policy and strategy. Headed by Permanent Secretary, John Manzoni - also the Chief Executive of the Civil Service - it comprises a number of different business units. It's purpose is:

  • To maintain the Integrity of the Union, coordinate the security of the realm and sustain a flourishing democracy;
  • To support the design and implementation of HM government's policies and the Prime Minister's priorities; and
  • To ensure the delivery of the finest public services by attracting and developing the best public servants and improving the efficiency of government.

Around 2,050 staff are employed by the Cabinet Office with offices and hubs in London, Belfast, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Liverpool to name a few.
