Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Cleveland Fire Brigade is committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and recognises the value serving personnel, Reservists, Veterans and military families bring to our organisation. We strive to support the values of the Armed Forces Covenant in many ways, including:
Providing flexibility with dates and times during the selection process so candidates can work around any military commitments.
Supporting reservists with paid time off for training.
Supporting spouses and partners to work flexibly where appropriate and look at flexible working opportunities.
Providing training and development to help staff in their role as well as benefiting their future career opportunities.
Providing an Employee Assistance Programme which offers a confidential support service including access to counselling, advice and guidance.
Looking sympathetically on requests for leave before, during or after a partner’s deployment.
Granting special leave for employees who are bereaved or whose loved ones are injured.
