  • We will provide support for employees for future employment opportunities on relocation when appropriate;
  • We offer flexible working opportunities for employees;
  • We will pay for one professional membership per year, which is relevant to the job;
  • We offering a robust suite of family-friendly and work-life balance polices to support employees within the workplace;
  • We afford employees training and development opportunities, which are integral to their role and which support future employment opportunities;
  • We will look sympathetically on requests for leave before, during, or after a partner/spouse’s deployment in accordance with council policy;
  • We grant paid compassionate leave, in accordance with the council’s time-off policy for employees who are bereaved or whose loved ones are injured; and
  • We offer a range of employee benefits.

The councils are proud to be a family-friendly and Disability Confident employer and we put our staff and our communities at the heart of what we do.  We are committed to ensuring our staff are suitably trained, developed and equipped with the relevant tools to be able to undertake their role to a high standard.  We aim to provide our staff with a safe and happy work environment that allows them to harness their talents and feel supported both professionally, and personally.  Health and well-being is instrumental in achieving our ambitions and is a key priority both internally and externally; we continue to offer a range of employee benefits and suite of policies to allow our staff to feel valued and promote work-life balance.
