Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and recognises the value serving personnel, Reservists, Veterans and military families bring to our organisation. We strive to support the values of the Armed Forces Covenant in many ways, including:

• We will always consider offering an interview to spouses/partners if they meet the selection criteria laid out in a job advert.

• We encourage staff to apply for other suitable positions within the NHS on relocation when appropriate.

• We will support spouses and partners to work from home where appropriate and look at flexible working opportunities.

• We will support training and development which helps staff not only in their CCG role, but will also be of benefit in future employment.

• We will look sympathetically on requests for leave before, during or after a partner’s deployment according to CCG's policy.

• We will grant other paid leave for employees who are bereaved or whose loved ones are injured.

The NHS offers a huge range of exciting and challenging opportunities for people who are passionate about making a difference. There is a job for you no matter what your interests, skills or qualifications and you will become part of a talented, passionate team of people committed to providing the best care and treatment to patients. You will also enjoy one of the most competitive and flexible benefits packages offered by any employer in the UK.

About us

We are a GP-led organisation, with an annual budget of around £460 million, responsible for planning and buying (commissioning) hospital, mental health and community health care services for the people living in the East Riding of Yorkshire area.

Established under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 on 1 April 2013, our ambition is for all local residents to receive better care, more locally, within budget, through transformation.  We are a clinically led membership organisation made up of 30 general practices that serve a registered population of 339,164 (January 2018).  Covering an extensive rural area of approximately 1,000 square miles, the practices are grouped into five locality commissioning groups.

We are committed to improving the care provided to patients, reducing health inequalities and raising the quality and standard of health services whilst achieving a financial balance.
