Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Galliard Homes Limited recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, by:

  • Promoting the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation;
  • Seeking to support the employment of veterans young and old and working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), in order to establish a tailored employment pathway for Service Leavers;
  • Striving to support the employment of Service spouses and partners;
  • Endeavouring to offer a degree of flexibility in grantingleave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment. We are unable to employ personnel that are still serving.
  • Seeking to support our employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces, including by accommodating their training and deployment where possible;
  • Offering support to our local cadet units, either in our local community or in local schools, where possible;
  • Aiming to actively participate in Armed Forces Day;
  • Offering a discount to members of the Armed Forces Community;
  • By advertising any vacancies with the CTP
  • To consider offering an interview to any service spouses /partners should they meet the selection criteria outlined in the job specification. (This would not guarantee an automatic offer, more an opportunity for them to prove themselves at an interview).
  • To actively follow the Armed Forces Day across social media and share messages of support and/or important events.
  • Being sympathetic to requests for leave /absence from work in the event of injury or extenuating circumstances.
  • By assisting service personnel with CV writing and mock interviews.
  • Offering (where possible) paid, hands on work experience across a selected number of departments.
  • To provide the necessary training (if required) to enable service personnel to successfully undertake a new role outside of their area of expertise. This is provided that they meet most other areas of the selection criteria for the role which they have applied for.
  • any additional commitments Galliard Homes Limited could make (based on local circumstances).
