Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant was signed by Halton Borough Council in June 2012. The Council aims to work with the Armed Forces community to; encourage support for the Armed Forces community working and residing in Runcorn & Widnes; recognise and remember the sacrifices faced by the Armed Forces community; encourage activities which help to integrate the Armed Forces community into local life; and, encourage the Armed Forces community to help and support the wider community. The Covenant makes a number of pledges in respect of Employment, Housing, Health and Education.

About us

Halton Borough Council is the local authority for the Borough of Halton, incorporating the towns of Runcorn and Widnes and the parishes of Daresbury, Hale, Moore and Preston Brook. The Council is unitary and provides all local government services to residents, businesses and visitors in the Borough. It has around 4200 employees (including schools), employing people in a very diverse range of roles and professions. The Council works in partnership with Health, Fire, Police and Justice services in the region and is one of the six local authorities that makes up the Liverpool City Region.
