Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
We are delighted to demonstrate our support for the Armed Forces community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant and are committed to supporting the Armed Forces community, recognising the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families would bring to our organisation. We strive to support the values of the Armed Forces Covenant in many ways, including: • We will always consider offering an interview to spouses/partners if they meet the selection criteria laid out in a job advert. • We will support spouses and partners with flexible working opportunities where appropriate and operate many family friendly policies, such as time off for emergencies and time off for a child's first day at primary school. • We will support training and development which helps staff not only in their Chamber role, but will also be of benefit in future employment. Our employees have access to the numerous courses the Chamber runs ranging from Excel, to Digital Marketing, to Assertiveness and Confidence, to Emergency First Aid. • We offer generous amounts of annual leave, starting at 29 days not including bank holidays which goes up to 34 days depending on years of service, • We grant special paid leave for employees who are bereaved.
About us
Established in the 1830’s during the industrial revolution, Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce remains a dynamic member-led, not for profit organisation, working to support the local business community and specifically our 1500-strong network of member businesses. Whilst the nature and scale of what we do has changed over time, today we still work to strengthen the position of our members and ensure that the interests of local businesses are heard.
