Hull CCG

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Hull Clinical Commissioning Group is committed to honouring the Armed Forces Covenant and support to the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the value Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to our business, communities and our country.

We will endeavour to support this community in many ways through encouraging applications to our jobs through this site and ensuring these applications are considered should they meet the criteria required for the role. We have already incorporated into our Other Leave policy whereby we support reservists in their duties by allowing applications for additional leave to help reservists meet their commitments as the CCG recognises that many of the skills that may be gained during this training are transferable in the workplace.

The CCG will look at leave requests sympathetically for those who are partners of military personal who have/are being deployed on exercise or operations.

About us

We are an NHS organisation consisting of 33 local GP practices with a vision to Create A Healthier Hull now and in the future. We commission health services which meet the needs of the 300,000 people who live in our city. Our vision is to create a healthier Hull and we know that this cannot be achieved just through medical healthcare or treatment. We understand that many factors impact on health, and that jobs, skills, houses, education, eliminating isolation and access to places to play and learn are all part of how people live and what makes them healthy and happy.

We have undertaken much work recently in promoting the welfare of Armed Forces Veterans within Primary Care and are working alongside the Local Authority, Hull 4 Heroes, the Veterans Hub and the Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Clubs throughout the city of Hull.

There are over 200 CCG’s in England and they are responsible for 2/3 of the total NHS budget, about £73.6 billion in 2017/18. Hull CCG’s budget is £396 million for 2016/17 and around 70 permanent and temporary staff work here.
