Humberside Police

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

There’s a lot we’re doing to support those who have served in the Armed Forces. On 26 February 2019 we signed the Armed Forces Covenant promising to ensure that those who serve or have served in the forces, and their families, are treated fairly. Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner Keith Hunter is also pledging his support by signing the Covenant on Friday 28 June 2019.

In 2016 we joined forces with military charity Walking with the Wounded (WWTW) to launch Project Nova. This is an initiative aimed at supporting ex-military personnel who come into contact with the police. We identify, support and engage with people with military backgrounds who come into contact with us, both as a result of being arrested but also through other interactions with officers. They are offered the chance to sign up to Project Nova which aims to support them in getting back on the right track.

We have a large number of ex-service personnel in our police family who identify with one another and share memories and experiences all year round. But Armed Forces Day is a fantastic way to give a much valued morale boost to serving troops, ex-troops and their families. We support Armed Forces Day in the United Kingdom. It’s an annual event to commemorate the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces.

About us

We have been proudly serving the people of Northern Lincolnshire, Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire since 1974. We cover a very diverse area that stretches from as far north as Bridlington, across to the Isle of Axholme and down to the outskirts of Grimsby where it changes to Lincolnshire Police.
