Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

IBM UK is committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and recognises the value serving personnel, Reservists, Veterans and military families bring to our organisation. That's why we have made a pledge to ensure those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly and their everyday lives are not disadvantaged. We look to do this in many ways, including:

    • Promoting the armed forces and benefits of Reservists service through supporting events such as Armed Forces Week
    • Running a military network with IBM which includes buddies for new joiners
    • Attracting service leavers and veterans to join IBM through open days and visits and supporting their employment through our own business and via Career Transition Partnership
    • Working with Forces NPO, SaluteMyJob, to offer free training and skills development through SkillsBuild on cyber security technologies to hundreds of service leavers some of whom who have since been employed by IBM and our clients
    • Providing paid time off for training for operational staff who are members of the Reserves and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers
    • Provide flexible working opportunities and relocation assistance to spouses when their partners are on operation.
