Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

  • Mabway Ltd has always been a strong advocator of the Armed Forces and actively advocate the Armed Forces Covenant commitment to industry and the community.
  • We signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2014 and we were awarded the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award in 2017.
  • We promote our ‘Service-friendly’ policy during recruiting and provide a personalised level of support to service personnel during recruitment (our HR/Recruitment Team will, wherever possible, include at least one Reservist or Service Leaver).
  • We support the employment of Veterans and Service Leavers by offering regional internal mentors/advisers (Reservist or Service Leaver) at Senior Manager and Company Board level to aid with transition into the civilian workforce.
  • We support Reservist employees and their families during times of mobilisation and demobilisation.
  • We support military families by offering employment to spouses and dependents of military employees.
  • We offer flexible working for spouses to allow them to take time off during times of partner’s deployment, injury or during bereavement.
  • Mabway Ltd is a member of the Regional Employer Engagement Group with a view to helping advise Defence.
  • We take an active role at military conferences and meetings to help shape current and future training requirements.
  • We support military charities, with sponsorship and by providing sick and injured veterans with work opportunities, including (but not necessarily limited to):
    • The Poppy Factory;
    • BLESMA;
    • Care After Combat; and
    • Help For Heroes.
  • We encourage our workforce to understand the Armed Forces, how they work and who they are.

About us

Mabway is a privately-owned, award-winning company who support and deliver training for the private sector and government contracts. Since 2004, we have provided specialist role players, special effects, consultancy and event management for bespoke learning and development and real-world experiences. We deliver a range of training support capabilities and are proud to be a prime supplier to the UK Ministry of Defence. 

Mabway currently employs circa 200 Service Leavers (approximately 170 full-time employees and 30 registered zero-hours workers). Recruitment of Service Leavers to maintain competency and currency within the workforce is enduring. Mabway actively recruits Gurkha service leavers through the UK based Nepali community and they continue to bring their renowned dedication and skills to bear. 

Service Leavers are embedded throughout the Company including the Chairman, Managing Director, Operations Director, Business Support Director, Operations Managers, Senior Event Managers, Operations Supervisors, Event Team Leaders, Transport Managers, Stores Personnel, Role-Players and Casualty Simulation Role Players.
