As part of the Defence Medical Service (DMS) the Manpower Support Cell (MSC) are fully committed to supporting the Armed Forces community
The primary role of the DMS is to promote, protect and restore the health of the UK armed forces to ensure that they are ready and medically fit to go where they are required in the UK and throughout the world.
The DMS is made up of the Royal Navy Medical Service, Army Medical Service, the Royal Air Force Medical Service and the Joint Medical Group (JMG). Service personnel and civilians work side by side as medical, dental and allied healthcare professionals and with other personnel with the relevant business and technical skills. The range of services provided by the DMS includes primary healthcare, dental care, rehabilitation, occupational medicine, community mental healthcare and specialist medical care.

The Manpower Support Cell (MSC) is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and located at the Defence Medical Services (DMS) Whittington.
The MSC provides administrative support and processes all civilian recruitment requests for Joint Medical Group (JMG). The team are the main point of contact between Recruiting Line Managers/recruiters and our Enhanced Recruitment Service, liaising with Regional and Operational Managers across the MOD both in the UK and overseas. All vacancies are advertised on Civil Service Jobs and NHS Jobs websites and vacancies are also promoted on Twitter and LinkedIn.
MSC attend numerous recruitment fairs across the UK to promote healthcare opportunities for civilian clinicians within the Ministry of Defence by promoting the Defence Medical Services as an employer of choice in the healthcare sector.
