Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
The National Crime Agency (NCA) signed the Armed Forces Covenant and registered with the Employer Recognition Scheme in May 2016 and is currently an Bronze Award holder. It has a fully established Armed Forces Network with a Reserve Champion, HR Representative and Senior Official. In 2019, the NCA launched their ‘NCA Support for UK Armed Forces’ dedicated intranet page and published its updated and improved policy for Reservists. The intranet page provides full details of the NCA’s support for Reservists, signposts to all the relevant NCA Reservist policies and forms. It publicises stories about Reservists and their training activities; Reservist news and upcoming events. The NCA Reservist Policy gives 15 days paid special leave per year for Reservist activities and there is also flexibility for unpaid special leave for additional Reservist activities. The NCA’s Recruitment Team is committed to using the ERS logo in its advertisements and to publish vacancies in publications that specifically targets armed forces personnel, including wounded and injured and veterans, and their spouses.
About us
The NCA leads the UK’s fight to cut serious and organised crime. We have an enhanced intelligence picture of the serious and organised crime threats to the UK, and we use it to flex law enforcement's collective resources against the threat. We operate proactively at the high end of high risk, undertaking investigations which result in offenders being brought to justice through prosecution or being disrupted through other means. We lead, task, co-ordinate and support activity against the most serious groups and individuals.
The NCA work with partners to develop, deploy and maintain specialist capabilities and services that are best delivered nationally, enhancing the overall UK impact on serious and organised crime. We equip our officers with the right skills, workplaces and technology to lead the UK's response to serious and organised crime, and operate with the trust and confidence of the public
