Naval Families Federation

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

The Naval Families Federation (NFF) recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant in many ways including:

  • We support the employment of Service spouses and partners with a guaranteed interview if the candidate has satisfied all of the job criteria stated in the job advert
  • We can offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment, in accordance with NFF policy
  • We support spouses and partners to work from home where appropriate and look at flexible working options
  • We encourage training and development which helps staff not only in their NFF role, but will also be of benefit in future employment
  • We seek to support our employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces, including by accommodating their training and deployment where possible
  • We will grant special paid leave for employees who are bereaved or whose loved ones are injured.

About us

The NFF offers support and advocacy to the widest definition of Naval Service Families. Our aspiration is that all Naval Service personnel and their families feel valued and are treated with fairness and respect and are able to thrive in the communities of their choice.

The NFF offers a voice for Naval Service families, representing their views and experiences to those who make the policies and decisions that affect them.  We meet regularly with the Royal Navy's chain of command, government ministers and departments and key stakeholders.

The NFF also gathers evidence and supports appropriate research as well as providing information and signposting to families.
