North Wales Fire & Rescue Service

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is proud to have signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant to mark our commitment to members of the British Armed Forces and their families. We employ several veterans, reservists and armed forces family members in a variety of roles across the Service and have in place specific policy and procedures detailing the support available to them, as well as nominated Armed Forces Champions.

We are committed to offering paid leave for Reservists to assist them with their training commitments and additional leave to close family members of those who are mobilised on active duties.

We operate a guaranteed interview scheme for spouses/partners of currently serving members of the Armed Forces, and veterans and their spouses/partners, where no more than five years has elapsed since their last day of Service. The guaranteed interview schemes rely on the applicant meeting the essential criteria for the advertised role.

We promote ourselves as a family friendly employer, offering flexible and agile working practices wherever possible.

About us

A career in the emergency services is a career to take pride in. Every member of staff at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, regardless of rank or role, makes an important contribution to making North Wales a safer place to live, work and visit.

Whilst the role of Firefighter is the most visual and highly regarded role by the public, the vital work carried out behind the scenes is just as crucial and equally valued by the Service.  Whether it's making sure staff are paid on time, ensuring that adequate supplies and equipment are available to staff, maintaining our fleet of vehicles, building links with local communities and providing advice and guidance on various issues or answering and dealing with emergency calls at our control centre, we offer a range of excellent career opportunities and benefits.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community, regardless of age, disability, race, gender, religious beliefs and sexual orientation.
